Surface Preparation:

• Ensure that the wood surface is clean, dry, and frost-free with a maximum moisture content of 18%.
• Osmo Polyx-Oil Anti-Slip is ready to use; no thinning required.
• Stir thoroughly before applying.
• Clean old microporous stains thoroughly, and completely remove old paints and lacquers.
• Sand wood surfaces carefully, starting with coarse sandpaper and finishing with P120-150 for flooring.
• Remove sanding dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner before oiling.
• A trial application is recommended, particularly for unfamiliar surfaces.

Method of Application:

• Apply thinly along the wood grain and spread evenly with an Osmo Flat Brush, Floor Brush, or Osmo Microfibre Roller.
• Allow approximately 8-10 hours of drying time under good ventilation.
• Apply a second coat thinly after drying.
• For renovation work on previously oiled surfaces, one coat on a clean and dry surface is generally sufficient.
• Note: Osmo Polyx-Oil Anti-Slip cannot be evened out with a single-disc machine.

Note:

• Applying the product too generously and inadequate ventilation can extend drying time, as oils enhance the natural tone of wood.
• Osmo Polyx-Oil Anti-Slip 3088 provides a satin smooth, yet non-slip surface, achieving a slip resistance class R9.
• Osmo Polyx-Oil Anti-Slip Extra 3089 is distinguished by an extremely high surface grip and an R11 slip rating.

Maintenance:

• Regular Cleaning: Dust mopping using the green Dust-Mop from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors. Damp mopping using Osmo Wash and Care or Osmo Spray-Mop.
• Occasional Maintenance for R9 finish: Apply a thin, lint-free cloth coat of Osmo Anti-Slip Maintenance Oil 3098 (R9) to the clean and dry surface.
• Recoating: Simply re-apply one thin coat onto the clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.

Top Tips:

• For exotic hardwood species, consider using Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin (not classified as anti-slip).
• Conduct a trial application for clear oils, as they may darken the wood's appearance.
• Recommended application amount is 35ml/m².
• The second coat can be applied as soon as the first coat has dried, ensuring adequate ventilation for drying.
• Use a base coat of Osmo Wood Protector for bathrooms or kitchens.
• When applying a colored Osmo finish (e.g., Polyx Tints or Wood Wax Finish) beneath the Anti-Slip product, only apply one coat of Anti-Slip over the color to prevent wood saturation and a slipperier surface.
• Applying just one top coat of the Anti-Slip product may not achieve the full R9 or R11 anti-slip properties.
