Product use: Liberon Spirit Wood Dye is ideal for use on hardwood and for furniture restoration and is a traditional dye which penetrates deep into the wood. It can be mixed together to obtain intermediate shades and may also be used to tint oil based finishes.
Preparation: Ensure the surface is free from existing finishes; wax, oil or grease. Sand thoroughly to a smooth finish and remove the dust.
Application: Shake well before use. Make sure you have sufficient dye to finish the work. If more than one tin is required, mix the contents together in a clean container to ensure uniform colour. Apply liberally with a brush or clean cotton cloth, remove excess dye immediately with a clean cotton cloth, working with the grain wherever possible. For a stronger colour apply a second coat after 4 hours. When dry the wood may be finished with French polish, water-based varnish or lacquer.
Important: Always test product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour, compatibility and end result. Different types of wood produce different results. The colour bar may not be a true representation of the actual colour.
Precautions: Caution must be taken when using oil based finishes over Liberon Spirit Wood Dye. Keep brush strokes to a minimum as over brushing may lift out the colour.
